Lovaholic was really craving to see the Lourve Museum Chalcography Exhibition and dragged the reluctant SO (Significant Other) for it on 30th June 2007 (Saturday). The exhibition ends on 22nd July 2007.

Singapore Art Museum

The tickets!!! $4 for students and $8 for public... (^_^)
In order to preserve all the great master pieces of art works for centuries, smarties from the past used the chemical etching technology on metals such as steel and some craved the master works on metal plates.
Great art piece such as the "Mono Lisa's Smile" was preserved this way too. The chalcography pieces can be reprint for sales at the Lourve Museum's gift store in Paris, France. I have no idea that such a preservation way exists for art pieces!!! (>_<)
It was quite a pity as no photography is allow at all!!! *sob sob* (~_~)

Chalcography!!!

Excited before the "Journey" starts! (^_^)

Door to great master pieces of over a centuries old.... Mona Lisa "greeting" us on the glass doors!!! *Excited*
After the Chalcography exhibition, we went exploring the rest of the museum's permanent exhibitions since my last visit was with my art teacher (plus classmates) at 14 years old!!! (>_<)

Well, it was rather a enriching trip to the Singapore Art Museum as now I know that such a great technology exits way back hundreds of years ago.... or else... we will not be able to see such great pieces now! (^_^)
Enrich yourself,
Lovaholic Vienne (^_^)
