Lovaholic catches the Fire Works Festival 2007!!!

Lovaholic got to attend the Singapore Fire Works Festival 2007 on 17th August (Friday) & 18th August 2007 (Saturday) at Marina Bay Floating Platform (MBFP) and road side near Fullerton Hotel.

LONG POST ---> Kinda!

18th August (Day 1):

Lovaholic's SO (Significant Other) being regular for the SAF got 4 tickets for this event. We were looking forward for it even before SO knew that he will be getting tickets and had long decided to stand alongside Esplande, if we can't get the tickets, just to view the fireworks!!!! Able to view it at the MBFP was an additional perk!!! *jumping with joy* (^_^)

We utilized 2 tixs but was unable to get people for the other 2 tixs. It went to SO's Encik's nieces in the end.... *Sigh*

MBFP was bulit for National Day 2007 and it was great to be there for the Fire Works Festival.

Before the Fire Works!!!

The Seats.

The Stage.

The large screen.

The City Skyline & me. (^_^)

Us. 1st time at MBFP. (^_^)

Special appearance of the Singapore River Duck!!!

The Sign. (>_<)

Fully seated at about 8pm. (@_@)

We arrived pretty early that day (about 7pm) as SO was KIASU (afraid of losing out)!!! He hates crowd too... Bad news for him as I love to be part of the crowd!!! After sitting for about an hour, we ventured around the "space" under the seats and it seems that there were "carnival" and "Pasar Malam" (Night Market) too. Fire Works started at about 9.15pm.

IT'S SHOW TIME!!!

END.... Look at the crowds... The host was telling us that over 10,000 audiences were present that day!!! (>_<)

Lovaholic is the dumbest gal alive!!! *Smashing herself with a hammer* (@_@)

I was "torturing" my arms that night in order to video record the Fire Works.... It was really MAGNIFICENT with the coordination of some great classical music!!! The moment I reached my iBook, I can't wait to upload the video to my lappy and hoping to YouTube it then post them to my blog... I have no idea what I did.... AND.... I DELETED THEM IN LESS THAN 1 SEC!!!! *Thunder & Lightning striking her* (#_#)

SO was nice as he never reprimand the poor me and told me nicely that he will try to get the tickets again next year... He even offer to get more so that I could ask some of my lovables along... Well, I can only wait patiently then. *Crossing fingers & praying hard* (^_^)

19th August (Day 2):

Lovaholic, her younger bro and 3 of her lovables went for the Day 2 of the Fire Works!!! This time without the pleasure of sitting comfortably at MBFP.

It was kinda an "experience" as we walked from Marina Square and finally settled at the road side near Fullerton Hotel. View was great but we were sweating profusely due to the heat "emitted" from the crowd around us. Pictures taking was rather fine... BUT... My memory stick MAXED OUT on me!!! Bro had to use his camphone... In the end, he got lazy to pass me the pics... *Sigh* (>_<)

From my miserable camera....

It was certainly not as pleasant as sitting comfortably at MBFP but the "Wows" & "Arhs" of the crowds makes it more fun as compare to MBFP!! (^_^)

Looking forward for next year Fire Works Festival,
Lovaholic Vienne (@_@)

Lovaholic - Singapore Art Museum visit on 30th June 2007! (^_^)

Lovaholic was really craving to see the Lourve Museum Chalcography Exhibition and dragged the reluctant SO (Significant Other) for it on 30th June 2007 (Saturday). The exhibition ends on 22nd July 2007.

Singapore Art Museum

The tickets!!! $4 for students and $8 for public... (^_^)

In order to preserve all the great master pieces of art works for centuries, smarties from the past used the chemical etching technology on metals such as steel and some craved the master works on metal plates.

Great art piece such as the "Mono Lisa's Smile" was preserved this way too. The chalcography pieces can be reprint for sales at the Lourve Museum's gift store in Paris, France. I have no idea that such a preservation way exists for art pieces!!! (>_<)

It was quite a pity as no photography is allow at all!!! *sob sob* (~_~)

Chalcography!!!

Excited before the "Journey" starts! (^_^)

Door to great master pieces of over a centuries old.... Mona Lisa "greeting" us on the glass doors!!! *Excited*

After the Chalcography exhibition, we went exploring the rest of the museum's permanent exhibitions since my last visit was with my art teacher (plus classmates) at 14 years old!!! (>_<)

Find some great places around the museum.... some areas gives me the chills (Haunted?!).... *shivers*

Contradicting view - Modern vs Old

Giraffe with Children's Graffiti?! (~_~")

Love the white lamp....

Chapel in Singapore Art Museum. (^_^)

1st Pic of us in a chapel....

Well, it was rather a enriching trip to the Singapore Art Museum as now I know that such a great technology exits way back hundreds of years ago.... or else... we will not be able to see such great pieces now! (^_^)

Enrich yourself,
Lovaholic Vienne (^_^)

Lovaholic's Maiden trip to Jurong Bird Park (^_^)

Lovaholic has to admit that she's a Mountain Turtle (someone who is not expose to things that may be popular and etc...). It was my first trip to Jurong Bird Park (JBP), one of the few places of interest in the TINY TROPICAL ISLAND, Singapore!!! (>_<)

After much pursue, SO (significant other) was nice enough to bring me there... It was pushed back for 3 weeks as we keep on waking up late over the weekends. Finally, WE MADE IT THERE!!! (>_<")

Imagine travelling on the MRT (Mass Rapid Transist) from the East (Pasir Ris, where I stay, 1st station of the East) to West (Boon Lay, last station of the west)!!! We sat on the train for almost 1 hours & 30 mins!!! (~_~)

It was damn HOT HOT HOT HOT on Sunday Morning!!! Plus, I don't understand why on that particular day JBP was filled with Korean and Indians.... Not with tour groups but individual large families!!! I also don't understand why on such a HOT HOT HOT day that they have to insist on wearing their Saree/Sari?!! I'm not being racist just feeling a bit sympathy for them... the sight of them wearing the saree makes me feel hotter on that HOT HOT HOT day....

Ticket costs $20 each for the Entrance and Panorail Ride (Which entitles for ONLY ONE ROUND) ---> Verdict: Expensive!!!

What makes the trip more unpleasant (other than the HOT HOT HOT weather) was that I FORGOT TO CHARGE THE BATT FOR MY DIGI CAMERA!!! With limited batt life, which can last for only 30 mins.... I did what I could to take pics for some interesting spots in JBP... *sob sob* (-_-'')

Pictures time!!!

The Jurong Bird Park!!!

First Stop to the Penguin Expediture - Cute little baby Penguin (^_^)

Penguin Expediture - And Ugly Big Face me!!!

Lorri Loft - Hanging Mid-air!!! Don't ever look down...

Lorri Loft - SO feeling so happy feeding the bird... The sweet scented and gluey birds' food!!! *Yucks!*

Lorri Loft - My turn to feed them (^_^)

Lorri Loft - The bird that we were feeding!!!

World's Tallest Man-Made Waterfall!!!

Birds' n Buddies Show - Parrots showing that they are GOOD at basket balls too! (^_^)

Birds' n Buddies Show - Displaying the well-trained flying techniques!!!

The Dancing Flamigoes!!! And my tired Face.... (>_<)

Fuji Hawk Walk - The Grand Majestic Eagle!!!

Fuji Hawk Eagle Show - Just a pic to show how it looks like... *duh*

Creatures of Darkness - Harry Potter Snow Owl?!! *Huh!!*

End of the trip!!! *Phew!!!*

JBP trip was rather tiring.... All thanks to the Hot & Humid weather!!! Rather interesting even it was a small park still you get to see as many as over 900 species of birds without going all over the world!!! Some of the birds are unique and you can only find them in certain parts of the world eg: forest, tropical rainforest and etc...

Official Webby: http://www.birdpark.com.sg/

Take some time and go check it out!!! Before everything is GONE!!! (Singapore loves to close down attractions???) *Pray*

Take a walk to JBP,
Lovaholic Vienne (^_^)
